Every crew has rules. These four keep the paint on the right walls, and the game scores you on them too.

    Don't touch the stećci.

    Medieval tombstones carved between the 12th and 16th centuries, on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 2016. Borrow their spirals and raised hands for your sketchbook. Leave the stone alone.

    Ruže ostaju crvene.

    Sarajevo Roses stay red.

    Mortar scars in the pavement, filled with red resin where people were killed during the siege. Walk around them. Never paint them.

    Ne ideš preko boljeg komada.

    Don't go over a better piece.

    If what you're about to paint isn't better than what's already there, find another wall.

    Nađi pravi zid.

    Find the right wall.

    Ask the owner, or paint where it's allowed. Painters work freely on the old Olympic bobsled track on Trebević, and festivals like Fasada in Sarajevo and Mostar's street art festival repaint whole facades.
